Feeling like all you do is look after everyone else?

Overwhelmed by life's demands, John, a dad, husband and manager in the corporate world had neglected his health, leading to weight gain and self-consciousness. Wanting a way to fit exercise into his routine he was frustrated with the plain, traditional fitness offerings out there. They just didn't appreciate how much time constraint he was under to fully commit to plans that required him to be in the gym everyday for hours.


As a result John Developed Fit IN 30, a bootcamp like program tailored for busy working parents seeking change but who are short on time to make it.


He was determined to make it happen for parents just like him. A promise of community support and efficient workouts. Something that can be done with just 30 minutes of time but where you also get the 1-2-1 accountability of a personal trainer.


He embarked on a journey to create a programme that re-wrote the age old, and usually silent stories of no time, self-doubt, self consciousness and frustrations of modern working parents.


When you add the multitude of promises found on the internet or in magazines its no wonder skepticism creeps in and we never actually make the first steps of change. It is all too complicated.

For years, people have been talking about calories and a lot of people have become a little too obsessed with this, to the point of tracking every single grain of rice. It’s great to be so focused and on the ball. But you will never need the exact same calories on a day-to-day basis. So stressing over ten or twenty calories won’t be the difference between losing and gaining. There are so many variants that will affect how many calories your body needs on a daily basis. Yes, the end goal is to be in a calorie deficit to lose body fat and a calorie surplus to gain muscle. But stressing over a few calories won’t matter. The labelling of food products is not always 100% accurate. It’s not about miss-selling to the consumer, it’s more about allowing food production companies a small margin for error. So just because the label on a packet says 500 calories, the chances of it being exactly 500 calories, is very slim. What I’m saying is, it’s great to have an understanding of how many calories you are consuming, but don’t get too obsessed with hitting an exact number. Give yourself a little bit of wiggle room, do the right things consistently, and trust the process.
